The word 'kabata' means ?쁬ountain??in one of the native Costa Rican languages, and we are proud of our beautifully conserved mountains and jungles. We would like to provide a place for you to stay as you enjoy and explore these magnificent places with the backpackers of the world.

Our beautiful Art-Deco style house is located in a nice-and-quiet neighborhood where you can walk safely at night. However, it is only a couple of blocks away from the University of Costa Rica, Outlet American Mall, Mall San Pedro, banks, ATMs, shops, art galleries, cinemas, fast food restaurants as well as more formal places to eat.

If you are interested in a night on the town, La Calle de la Amargura -with bars like Jazz Cafe, Terra U, Caccio's, La Villa, Mosaikos, etc.- is where all the college students hang out, and is definitely the place to go. There is a night life for every taste, be it noisy and loud or calm and more quiet. In all of these bars you can drink, eat, dance, and meet people that like to party or relax like you do!!!

At Yare, you will enjoy all the attractions of the beach, of the ocean, the
forest, and the Caribbean, unique to this region. In addition, you will be able
to enjoy reefs located in front of Punta Uvita beach. Moreover, you can
recreate with the beautiful dusks or simply enjoy a relaxing trip in canoes in
the sea.

The incredible green of the tropical forest is complemented with the
intermittent colors, different tropical birds such as toucans, parrots, humming
birds, etc.; all those that you can admire between pleasant melodies where
you will be able to distinguish monkeys, Congos or simply find a raccoon .
Probably, near the Gandoca area, you can watch the only show, recognized
worldwide, of green turtles laying eggs in the sand during the months of June
and July.

In order to enjoy the clean ocean and the coral, you may snorkel, fish, or
prove your ability to surf in the warm and crystalline waters.



Walking, horse riding at the beach, or at the mountain is like arriving to
another world; where time does not matter, it only matters to live the
moment.
Less than three hours from the capital in car (4 hours in bus), this region of
Talamanca is a vacationer's favourite. Arriving by Braulio Carrillo Highway,
you pass by Puerto Limon, the busy provincial capital.

An hour south of Puerto Viejo is Cahuita. You will travel through the banana
plantations for about 45 minutes. Here is where the delicious fruit is
harvested and packed towards the worldwide markets. After a while, we
arrived to Cahuita, the surfing zone, and in addition, we are going to find the
beautiful zone Puerto Viejo and Punta Cocles. Just ahead, we find Hotel
Yare.
